Candles in Window

Aunt Kay, Since you told me about putting the candles in the windows (maybe a few years ago?), we now put an electric candle in each window in our house. It certainly makes our house look warm and cozy but it gives me pleasure in knowing that we are continuing a Carney tradition. Next year I'll try to make a pudding and some boxty. Mary B.

P.S. I wonder if "boxty" is a take on "latke," the Jewish potato pancake?

We are now in a new home here in the Philly area and for this Christmas I have once again put candles in the window. Now with the darkness sensor it is much easier. I'm craving more stories so anyone please post anything you remember! Were there any Christmases in particular that you remember Aunt Kay? Did you get presents from "Santa?" Did the brothers and sisters exchange presents too?
